flavor of the day: Maple EVOO
olive oil ice cream sweetened with maple syrup
Ice cream inspiration is everywhere. Including twitter. Yesterday we were alerted to a tweet of brilliance “I just licked maple syrup and olive oil off a spoon…this needs to become an ice cream flavor.” (via @emilyolson, thx @msg for the tip)
Sounded awesome to us, and with some leftover maple and California Arbequina EVOO from The Filling Station in Chelsea Market, we went for it. And we’re glad we did - it’s smooth, sweet, intriguing, delicate. So good that perhaps we’ll add it to our flavor of the month repertoire one of these months!
